Clinic Update #3

One achievement during lock down is after three years of study I passed my exams to be a one of the few fully Certified Institute For Functional Medicine Practitioners in the UK.

The examination process is notoriously rigorous and when lockdown came I was really ready to give up. But I stuck with it and after a pretty miserable final 5 hr exam I was chuffed to hear last week I had passed!

I know lockdown has been a tricky time for many. I have fluctuated between some real moments of pleasure to desperation about the state of the nation's health and our reaction to it (don't get me started on how long it has taken the government to pick up on vitamin D...)

I think it is going to take us some time to make sense of what has happened over the last few months. I am looking forward to space over the summer to reflect more.

Below is a poem I have recently found really helpful by Danna Faulds (thank you for the inspiration Katy!)

As always, it’s an honour to be here with you in this time. Thank you for sharing your lives with me.

I will be taking my usual summer break over August - my last working day will be Monday 27th July and I will be back when the schools (hopefully) return. Exactly what format this will be is unclear at present. The office will contact everyone needing appointments over the summer when we have a better idea.

If you need to speak with me before the summer break or need supplement orders do drop the office a line admin@debbielewis.co.uk. Lisa and Georgia will be working over the summer, although it may be reduced hours, the best way to reach them is via email.

I look forward to seeing you after the summer.

Warmest wishes,

Debbie
